Unit 5: Reaction Types & Factors
Key Learning Targets
(5.01) I can balance a chemical reaction based on the reaction equation. (5.02) I can represent a balanced chemical equation using a particle diagram. (5.03) I can illustrate that the release or absorption of energy from a chemical reaction system depends upon the changes in total bond energy. (5.04) I can describe endothermic and exothermic reactions in terms of storage or release of chemical potential energy. (5.05) I can name and explain the factors (temperature, concentration, surface area & catalysts) that affect reaction rates. (5.06) I can explain the effects of changing the temperature or concentration of the reacting particles on the rate at which a reaction occurs. (5.07) I can specify a change in conditions that would produce increased amounts of products at equilibrium.
